Vučević Aims for Playoff Success as Bulls Strive for Glory; Jokić’s 61 Points Fall Short Against Minnesota
Nikola Vučević delivered an almost flawless performance, and when he does that, Chicago tends to secure victories.
The Bulls bounced back from two consecutive losses, clinching a play-in spot by defeating Toronto with a score of 137:118. The Montenegrin star notched 25 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, and dished out seven assists in just 30 minutes, missing only three shots (12-9).
Our center shot 9-7 on two-pointers, 3-2 on three-pointers, and went 2-2 from the free-throw line.
Only Kobe White (28 points) and Taylen Horton-Thompson (27 points) exceeded his scoring efficiency. On the opposing side, Jacob Walter and Emmanuel Quickley both contributed with 17 points.
In another remarkable display, Nikola Jokić played 52 minutes against Minnesota, scoring a career-high 61 points while also achieving a triple-double (11 rebounds, 10 assists). Despite his efforts, the Nuggets fell short against the Wolves, losing 140:139.
This marked Minnesota’s fourth victory over Denver this season.
Jokić came to the rescue of his team twice, once after the regular time and again during the first overtime. However, in the second overtime, Russell Westbrook’s mishaps, including a missed layup and a foul on Nickel Alexander-Walker during a three-point attempt, proved costly.
The Canadian player made both free throws, intentionally missed the third, sealing the win for his team.
Steph Curry also shone brightly during this matchup, scoring 52 points, along with 10 rebounds and eight assists, leading Golden State to a 134:125 victory over Memphis.
Curry sank 12 three-pointers out of 20 attempts, netting 32 points by halftime. He was supported by Jimmy Butler, who added 27 points, and Draymond Green, who posted a triple-double with 13 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds.
