Viktor Wembanyama is eager to participate in EuroBasket 2025.
The center for San Antonio and the French national team is gearing up for the championship in Europe, set to take place from August 27 to September 14 across Latvia, Cyprus, Finland, and Poland.
Wembanyama is expected to miss a portion of the NBA season due to deep vein thrombosis affecting his right shoulder, which was diagnosed following the All-Star Game.
“We had a conversation with Victor prior to his surgery—he is keen on being part of the squad. We’ll assess his physical recovery and decide when the time is appropriate. For now, everything remains uncertain. However, he feels positive and his rehabilitation is progressing well. The national team’s general manager, Boris Dia, met with Zachary Risach and Alexandre Sarr during a visit to the United States this season. They expressed their desire to join the team,” mentioned national team head coach Frederic Fotu.
