The Partizan basketball team faced a defeat against Bayern Munich in the 32nd round of the Euroleague, finishing with a score of 89:74, which complicates their chances of making the play-in.
With only two rounds left, Željko Obradović’s squad holds a record of 16 wins and 10 losses. Winning their remaining games against Žalgiris away and Real at home still may not guarantee them at least a 7th place finish if other outcomes do not align favorably.
The “Black and Whites” maintained their lead until the close of the third quarter, ahead at 61:54. However, Bayern launched an 8:0 run to regain the lead and dominated the final quarter, outscoring the Belgrade team 24:11.
Bayern’s playmaker Edwards led the game for his team, scoring 25 points, while Lucic and Obst each added 11 points, and Obst chipped in another 10. For Partizan, Karlik Jones was the standout with 19 points, with Brown contributing 13.
Bayern currently sits in fifth place in the standings with a 19:13 record, having secured their spot in the playoffs, which will feature the top six teams.
Olympiacos faced their third consecutive defeat, falling to Monaco 80:77, following losses to Red Star and Lyon.
Barcelona rebounded from a previous home loss to Bayern, significantly boosting their playoff chances with a 98:85 victory over Armani in Milan, effectively sidelining the “models”.
Despite Nikola Mirotic’s 26 points, Ettore Messina’s team could not secure a win, with the Catalans being led by Brizuela and Panter, who scored 24 and 23 points respectively.
Zalgiris also faced elimination after losing 88:79 to Lyon.
