A collective of teachers and students from the “Mihajlo Pupin” Electrical Engineering School in Novi Sad honored those who lost their lives in a recent accident at the train station by blocking the road outside their school each day. Today, however, they were struck by a black BMW that drove through their blockade.
During their tribute, which lasted for 16 minutes—adding an additional minute for the victims of the tragedy in Macedonia—the students encountered a driver in a BMW who initially inquired about the duration of their blockade before proceeding to push through it.
“After a colleague shouted for everyone to move aside, some people stepped out of the way. The car crossed the pedestrian island where a few narrowly escaped its path, then returned to its lane,” reported the school’s professors to the 021 portal.
They also noted that several colleagues managed to capture images of the vehicle.
“Thanks to the fact that the daily blockade is communicated to the police, an officer is typically stationed nearby,” emphasized the teachers and students of the school.
The teachers are hopeful that the individual responsible for this incident will be identified and promptly held accountable.
