The Swedish National Team Boosts Buducnost Handball Players
Klara Monti Danielson, a member of the Swedish national handball team, will don the Budućnost Bemaks jersey for the upcoming season, as announced by the Podgorica handball club.
She becomes the eighth player added to the roster of the two-time European champions, who are finalizing their squad for next season.
At 32 years old, Danielson plays as a pivot.
She joins Budućnost from French club Chambray, where she spent the last three seasons.
Prior to that, she played for Swedish side Lugi, as well as Danish teams Randers and Esbjerg, and German club Borussia.
Danielson has experience in the EHF Champions League, playing two seasons in that prestigious competition, and in her last three seasons with Chambray, she competed in the EHF European League, the second tier of European handball.
She represented the Swedish national team at the EHF Euro 2022, held across Slovenia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
Danielson is the latest addition for the forthcoming season, joining fellow signings including Montenegrin national team players Đurđina Jauković, Jelena Despotović, and Nina Bulatović, along with Russian Valerija Kirdyasheva, Swedish Jenny Carlson, French Aisatu Kujate, and Norwegian Sakura Hauge, who plays for the Japanese national team.
Several Montenegrin national team members—Armel Atingre, Ivona Pavićević, Ivana Godeč, Andrijana Popović, Tanja Ivanović, Anastasija Marsenić, and Nađa Kadović—have also extended their contracts, alongside Bulgaria’s Mari Plamenova Tomova.
In Budućnost, new players Jelena Vukčević and Dunja Radević, who joined from the Rudara branch, will remain, while Nikolina Marković, Maša Kuzmanović, and coxswain Marija Marsenić will be promoted to the first team next season.
