He joined the club ten years ago under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, and he will remain in Munich until at least his 34th birthday.
Bayern Munich has secured what might be their most significant deal for the upcoming season—Joshua Kimmich, a pivotal player for the team, has signed a contract extension until 2029.
“This is the best environment for me to reach my sporting ambitions, which was fundamental in my decision. Currently, I can’t imagine a better team, coaching staff, or club atmosphere to maximize success. I feel at home here, and my story isn’t over yet,” Kimmich stated.
Kimmich has been a part of Bayern since 2015 and previously played for RB Leipzig after coming up through the youth ranks at Stuttgart.
He quickly established himself as an essential player for the northern Munich club, whether in midfield or at full-back. His appointment as captain of the national team in September highlights his significance in German football.
“I want to commend our sports management and board. Bayern needs players who embody the jersey and take responsibility both on and off the pitch, and Joshua Kimmich is one of those players,” remarked Herbert Hainer, president of the Bavarian club.
Recently, Real Madrid expressed interest in Kimmich, but Bayern was resolute in their decision to retain one of their key captains.
