“The unifying factor for us on this list is our genuine wish to transform and streamline the operations of the Municipality of Nikšić. We firmly believe that this citizens’ roster will play a substantial role after April 13th. Our intention isn’t to seek power; rather, we aim to establish and structure the Municipality of Nikšić in a way that its functionality will not hinge on election outcomes or a shift in governance,” stated Dragoljub Dragan Radulović, the leader of the citizens’ list “Probudimo Nikšić”, following the submission of a list supported by 560 signatures to the Municipal Election Commission last night.
Radulović assured that they have no external backing and entered the electoral competition wholeheartedly, expressing that they are running their campaign without any financial resources, relying instead on dedication and commitment, emphasizing that elections should truly celebrate democracy.
Throughout the election campaign, they will highlight past shortcomings and propose solutions that address everyday existential issues, focusing on social concerns, job creation, child care, and education, avoiding ideologies and divisions to restore Nikšić to its deserved position.
“This list is devoted to reaching out to the citizens, listening to their concerns, particularly those of ordinary individuals, and addressing them effectively. My social initiatives have shown that one individual can make a significant impact. There are many such commendable individuals on our list. My sincere hope is that in the coming years, the Municipality of Nikšić will be led by competent professionals, irrespective of party affiliation or ethnic background. Achieving unity is essential for elevating this city. This city deserves it; it embodies freedom, it is the city of our Ljubo Čupić, Joke Baletić, and it possesses a unique spirit. It would be truly regrettable for it to falter. We aim to set Nikšić on the path of progress,” added Radulović, the current president of the Župa Nikšićka Local Community.
Radulović highlighted that the goal of their list is to have professionals lead all municipal institutions, transcending political or national divides.
“The key criterion is professionalism and the ability to deliver quality work. That is my aspiration, our common objective as ‘Let’s Wake Up Nikšić.’ Each member of this list joined not out of personal gain but with the motivation to develop our city, where we and our families have chosen to live. This commitment represents a substantial sacrifice for all of us, and I wish to demonstrate how the Municipality of Nikšić should ideally function,” he explained.
On April 14th, he anticipates that the pivotal question will be regarding who stands with them, given that the “Probudimo Nikšić” list aims to be in that position.
“This list is open. I want to make it clear that, as a human being, I will not influence anyone on this list post-election regarding their interactions. Each member’s choices will be their own,” Radulović stressed.
