Janko Odović, the former Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, stated that he does not anticipate his arrest in the ongoing investigation, although he believes someone else should face consequences.
“I believe someone should be held responsible, though I can’t predict if there will be any arrests, as they don’t necessarily lead to resolutions,” Odović remarked after his interrogation at the Special Police Department (SPO), when asked by a reporter whether he expects accountability from anyone in his former department.
Odović mentioned that he was also interviewed as a private citizen today.
Last week, he was interrogated by the SPO and informed the press that he had been summoned regarding a case tied to a construction project in Budva.
“The main issue was whether the building permit was granted lawfully,” Odović explained to reporters on that occasion.
He noted that the permit for the particular building was issued on the last or second-to-last day of his tenure.
“I neither signed it nor had the authority to do so; it was signed by another individual. I believe it is crucial for the citizens to verify if the legal process was adhered to,” Odović commented previously.
