The volleyball team from Herceg Novi has successfully defended their Montenegrin Cup title.

In the final match held today in Budva, Herceg Novi triumphed over Luka Bar with a score of 3:1 (25:21, 18:25, 25:18, and 25:15).

This victory marks their third consecutive title after an intense match lasting one hour and 32 minutes.

Under the guidance of Srđan Crnojački, the team has secured their second trophy of the season, following their Super Cup victory in Nikšić last September.

Captain Ralitsa Vasileva and her teammates showcased their determination and skill, despite facing a formidable Luka Bar team. Remarkably, this was the fourth encounter of the season, with Herceg Novi claiming victory in all four matches.

The first set was tightly contested, but Herceg Novi managed to pull ahead at 22:19 and later 23:20, ultimately winning the set 25:21. Luka Bar retaliated in the second set, taking an early lead at 11:8 and then extending it to 15:10 to control the latter half. Excellent serves from Dijana Vuković allowed Luka Bar to clinch the second set with a score of 25:18.

The third set began evenly (11:11), but Herceg Novi took command with a score of 22:16, concluding the set 25:18 for a 2:1 lead. Riding the momentum from the third set, Herceg Novi secured the fourth set and the match with a final score of 3:1.

Luka Bar has not claimed the Cup since 2017, having won it a total of seven times (in 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017).

The new trophy for Herceg Novi was propelled by Anamarija Galić with 19 points, while Daria Čabonenko contributed 14, Anđelka Radišković had 13, and Ralitsa Vasileva scored 11 points. For Luka Bar, the standout was Dijana Vuković with 17 points, alongside Teodora Čavić and Tijana Kruta, who scored 10 and 9 points, respectively.
