After a year, the renowned Montenegrin pivot is back in coaching, taking the helm of the Slovakian handball powerhouse, a club that has frequently competed in the Champions League and regularly appears in European tournaments.
Ratko Đurković has been appointed as the new head coach of Tatran Prešov, a club that recently claimed its 18th national title, reaffirming its dominance over other teams in Slovakia.
The former Lovcen handball player and exceptional defender departed from Crvena Zvezda last summer and has been on a break from coaching since then; now he faces the most significant challenge of his coaching career.
“I have been anticipating a call like this for a long time, and I’m thrilled to take charge of Tatran,” Đurković said.
In addition to defending their title, our expert aims to achieve the best possible results beyond Slovakia next season, as Tatran is expected to compete in the EHF European League, with hopes also high for an invitation to the Champions League in Prešov.
Đurković began his coaching career at Lovcen and has also managed clubs like Pelister from Bitola, Hungarian teams Komlo and Orošhaz, Borac from Banja Luka, and Kuwaiti Al-Kurain.
