The Mornar basketball team demonstrated how to play without pressure in the previous round, nearly causing an upset against Partizan at the Belgrade Arena.
However, they stumbled in the final minute, ending the game at 89:84. A far tougher challenge is ahead for Mihailo Pavićević’s squad in the 25th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League, where they will face Krka at home.
“I wish we could face weaker opponents like we did against Partizan in Belgrade. Regardless, the players realized they can compete at a high level. I hope we maintain the same determination and spirit against Krka, as this match is crucial for us. A victory would keep our survival hopes alive,” Pavićević expressed.
Krka currently has four wins, three more than last-place Mornar, who is experiencing a 16-game losing streak.
The Slovenians also emerged victorious in their initial match of the season, defeating Mornar 103:90 in Novi Mesto.
“With no pressure, I anticipate a solid performance since Krka is a disciplined and talented team. I hope we can finally achieve a victory. The young players stepped up in Belgrade, especially Srđa Bulatović, who excelled on both ends of the court. I commend him for that and hope this game helps him realize he is on the right path,” Pavićević concluded.
The matchup at “Topolica” is scheduled for Sunday at 20:00.
