Naida Nišić, the Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Welfare, expressed that any form of violence, particularly that which endangers the lives and safety of employees, is unequivocally intolerable and that she strongly denounces it.

This statement came in response to an incident that took place at the Labor Fund. The police in Podgorica apprehended Silvija Babović, a Labor Fund employee, on charges of threatening the institution’s director, Ana Mrdović.

Nišić expressed deep concern and shock regarding the incident.

She emphasized that it is most crucial that Mrdović and her coworkers remained unharmed and commended the swift response from the relevant authorities.

“This occurrence highlights the necessity of continually enhancing security protocols within institutions to avert such incidents in the future. The Ministry is committed to implementing further measures to guarantee a safe workplace for all employees,” Nišić asserted.

“I plan to visit the Labor Fund today to meet with Director Mrdović and the staff, offering support and confirming that all essential protective actions have been implemented. The safety and dignity of every employee must be our top priority, and we will advocate for that,” Nišić concluded.
