Tomorrow, the Montenegrin junior women’s handball team will begin their journey in the World Championship for players under 20 years old, taking place in North Macedonia.
The team’s first match will be against Uzbekistan, with Guinea and Portugal also in their group. The two top teams will advance to the main round.
Coach Igor Marković has announced the roster of 17 players who will represent Montenegro at the championship in North Macedonia, with Portugal being the main competitor in their group.
“Our primary goal is to advance to the main round; we are favorites in the group alongside Portugal. Our matchup against them in the final round will be crucial. If we manage to secure first place in the group, we will have a strong chance to reach the quarterfinals, which would be an excellent outcome for this squad. This is the last major competition for this age group, and I am confident they will showcase their tremendous potential in North Macedonia,” stated coach Marković.
The roster includes – goalkeepers: Marija Marsenić, Aleksandra Bazović, Aleksandra Kecojević;
Left wings: Ivana Vujadinović, Lana Pavićević, Maša Kuzmanović;
Right wings: Jovana Jovanović, Mia Grujić;
Pivots: Andrea Brajović, Hristina Rešetar, Ema Kolić;
Backs: Anđela Milošević, Nikolina Marković, Jelena Vukčević, Kristina Arsenijević, Sara Burić, Nađa Micevska.
Coach Marković’s support staff includes first assistant Draško Kaluđerović, goalkeeper coach Sonja Barjaktarović, and physiotherapist Hamza Mehović.
