“Balkan Cybersecurity Days: Regional Conference in Podgorica”

The Balkan Cybersecurity Days conference was held from March 18 to March 20, 2025, in Podgorica. This event was organized by CIRT ME in collaboration with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Management (DCAF) and the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), with support from the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C) and the UK Government.

Bringing together a diverse group of cybersecurity specialists from both public and private sectors, the conference aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing, promote best practices, and enhance regional collaboration. This year’s agenda centered on improving institutional coordination and crafting actionable solutions to boost the cyber resilience of the region. Attendees delved into present-day cybersecurity challenges, with a specific focus on strategies for safeguarding critical infrastructure, a target of increasing sophisticated cyberattacks.

The conference program featured an opening ceremony, a panel discussion titled “Protection and Recognition of Invisible Critical Infrastructure,” plenary sessions, and technical training sessions on the second and third days.

Serving as an essential networking and collaborative platform for experts, institutions, and businesses, the conference aimed at bolstering cybersecurity across the Balkans. The insights and recommendations generated during the event will be instrumental in shaping future strategies and initiatives to enhance the protection of critical infrastructure in the region.

The “Balkan Cybersecurity Days” conference received support from the UK Government as part of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Management (DCAF) project titled “Resilient and Responsive Cybersecurity in the Western Balkans.” BCD 2025
