Montenegro’s Water Polo Team at the World Championship in Argentina
The Montenegro national water polo team will compete in the World Championship for athletes under 18 years old, scheduled for July 2 to 8 in Buenos Aires.
Coach Miodrag Mirović is relying on a roster of 15 players for the tournament in Argentina.
The pride of Montenegrin water polo will be represented by Marko Pejović, Miloš Vukašinović, Tim Perov, Tadija Matijašević, Đorđe Pejović, Nikola Petrović, Andrija Roganović, Miljan Bošković, Srđan Janović, Strahinja Gojković, Ivan Marković, Danilo Stupar, Draško Samardžić, Ognjen Moračanin, and Miloš Milinić.
Along with coach Mirović, the professional staff includes assistant coaches Filip Andrić and Nikola Mijanović, as well as team doctor Rade Šćekić.
The Montenegrin water polo players will face off in their group against the United States, Serbia, and Hungary.
The first match will be against the USA on July 2, followed by a game against Hungary the next day, and finally a clash with Serbia.
Group B features teams from Greece, Italy, Spain, and Croatia.
Group C includes China, Canada, and Iran, while Group D consists of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Group E has Japan, New Zealand, and Colombia, and Group F includes Australia, South Africa, and Kazakhstan.
The top two teams from Groups A and B will advance to the quarterfinals.
The teams finishing third and fourth in Groups A and B will enter the round of 16, facing off against the winners from Groups C, D, E, and F.
