Nikšić: A City for Living and Building a Brighter Future

The Party of European Progress (SEP) has established a Municipal Board in Nikšić and appointed 43-year-old entrepreneur Nikola Čvorović as its president, according to the SEP announcement.

“This marks the sixth city where the Party of European Progress is now officially active, following Podgorica, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Rožaje, and Plav,” the statement indicated.

During the inaugural session of the Municipal Board, the SEP elected candidates for councilors in the upcoming Nikšić Municipal Assembly elections scheduled for April 13, with Čvorović assuming the role of head of the electoral list.

In his remarks, Čvorović outlined two objectives for the SEP in the forthcoming elections.

“Our primary goal is to earn the trust of Nikšić’s citizens and secure a position in the local parliament. The second goal is to facilitate a governmental change and restore hope to the people of Nikšić. It is widely known that Nikšić was once a robust industrial hub where 20,000 individuals were employed. Nowadays, it has transformed into a city from which residents are departing in search of better opportunities elsewhere. We are determined to reverse this trend. Nikšić should be a place where people live and shape a future, not a city they escape from in pursuit of a livelihood,” stated Čvorović.

Regarding the campaign strategy of the Party of European Progress, he emphasized that it would maintain a standard of cleanliness and fairness.

“However, don’t mistake our integrity for silence. We will champion every positive initiative, while also providing tangible solutions for any shortcomings,” he added.

According to the SEP, Čvorović was born in 1982. After completing his primary and secondary education in Nikšić, he pursued studies in maritime communications, electronics, and electrical engineering in Kotor. In 2008, he relocated to Paris, where he launched his own business, started a family, and integrated into French society.

“Three years ago, he returned to Montenegro with his family, where he acquired the company ‘BTSline doo’ in Podgorica, which currently employs 20 people. Nikola is also an accomplished mountaineer and a member of both the Javorak Mountaineering and Sports Association from Nikšić and the French Mountaineering Association. As a mountaineer, he has successfully reached several challenging peaks, including Mont Blanc and the 6,200 m Island Peak in the Himalayas. He actively participates in humanitarian efforts through the Goodwill Bikers Foundation, which assists children with developmental disabilities. He is a father of two,” the statement further detailed.
