Water Polo Team Falls to France in Second Match
The Montenegro water polo national team faced a defeat against France, losing 14:10 in their second friendly match as they prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Just two days prior, the “sharks” claimed victory in Montpellier with a score of 19:17.
During the match in Sete, the home team established a significant lead towards the end of the first quarter and throughout the second quarter, executing a 6:0 run to pull ahead 9:3.
The French team managed to extend their lead to six points on two occasions (10:4, 13:7), while Montenegro was only able to reduce the deficit towards the end of the game…
In terms of scoring for Montenegro, Aljoša Mačić and Bogdan Đurđić netted two goals each, while Marko Mršić, Danilo Radović, Vlado Popadić, Stefan Vidović, Vladan Spaić, and Dimitrije Obradović each contributed one goal.
On the French side, Igo Cruzija and Michel Bodega were the standout players, each scoring three goals.
Montenegro is now heading to Šabac to participate in their final tournament before the Olympics, which is set to take place from July 4 to 7.
Under the guidance of Vladimir Gojković, the team will face Germany on July 4, Romania the following day, and will compete in two matches on July 6 against Australia and Serbia. They will conclude the tournament with a match against France on the final day.
