Lipovina Appoints Zabjela as Head Coach; Banović Takes on Sports Director Role
Nikola Lipovina is the newly appointed coach of the Zabjelo handball club, with Ivan Banović serving as the sports director, who will also oversee the coordination of activities within the junior categories.
Lipovina, a former goalkeeper for Cepelin, Danilovgrad, and Budućnost, led Danilovgrad in both coaching and player capacities to a promotion to the First League. Additionally, he has experience as an assistant coach with the Budućnost team.
“I anticipate that this summer we will assemble a young, yet competitively viable team. The club’s strategy focuses on providing opportunities for players who have emerged from our ranks, followed by supplementing the roster with a few seasoned players,” Lipovina stated.
This season, Zabjelo will make its debut in the First League, with preparations beginning on August 19.
“Our efforts will continue to prioritize the development and training of younger categories. Currently, we have four competitive selections, and we will keep enrollment for new members open continuously. This marks a transformative year for the club, as we have a new administration dedicated to establishing the necessary conditions for the club’s functioning at all levels. We are now developing the sports framework to ensure readiness for the upcoming season,” Banović mentioned.
