Yesterday, Sutjeska made a comeback to defeat Bokelj SBBet in Kotor (2:1) during the 23rd round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, achieving their second consecutive victory in the league.
The team from Nikšić earned three points after trailing, with Bokelj initially taking the lead through a goal from Pepić. However, by the end of the first half, Sutjeska had turned the match around, thanks to goals from Pajović and Damjanović.
“I believe we were the better side throughout the match; we should have secured the win earlier. We missed several opportunities. Overall, I’m pleased with our performance and our fighting spirit. It’s particularly encouraging that we managed to come back, which boosts confidence. The players are starting to believe in their abilities and recognize their quality,” commented Sutjeska coach Milija Savović.
This victory places Sutjeska just four points behind third-placed Bokelj.
“We’ve moved past the crisis that troubled us initially. I hope we can keep delivering improved performances, as this isn’t our peak yet. The team is still new, and we have five bonus players starting each match. We have potential, and I believe we can perform even better,” Savović added.
The league action resumes on Wednesday, with Sutjeska set to host Mornar.
