Athletics’ Blunder: Arambari Stuns the “Kolčoneros” at the Finish Line
Getafe triumphed over Atletico Madrid with a score of 2:1 at home today, in the 27th round of the Spanish league.
Atletico initially took the lead thanks to a penalty scored by Alexandre Serlot in the 75th minute. However, Mauro Arambari, who netted both goals for Getafe, turned the tide in favor of his team in the closing minutes.
Arambari brought the teams level in the 88th minute, then secured the victory with his second goal in the second minute of stoppage time.
Atletico ended the match with ten players after Angel Correa received a red card in the 88th minute.
With this win, Getafe snapped a two-game losing streak and climbed to 11th place in the standings, now boasting 33 points from their eighth league victory.
Atletico remains in second place with 56 points, suffering their third defeat and trailing the league leaders Barcelona by one point, with a game in hand. Real Madrid sits third in the standings with 54 points but also has a match to play over their city rivals Atletico.
