Firefighters in Bijelo Polje were involved in multiple operations today to combat fires in the area.
According to Edin Kolić, the Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service, there were several forest fires occurring in different locations, with houses and auxiliary structures at risk in Goduša. Six firefighters, equipped with two specialized vehicles and one technical vehicle, were dispatched to address the situation.
“We worked on putting out the forest fire in Zaton, along with another in Orahovac, where a weekend residence was under threat,” he stated.
“In Potrk, two firefighters operated a technical vehicle to tackle the fire,” Kolić added, noting that the prevailing wind conditions complicated the extinguishing efforts.
All fires were eventually brought under control, and the firefighting team returned from the site by 19:00, as reported by Kolić.
