The practical education of students with employers holds significant potential for addressing the labor deficit, which is regarded as one of the foremost challenges facing the Montenegrin economy. This assessment was made during a meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).

During discussions between the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro, Nina Drakić, and the Director of the Center for Vocational Education (CSO), Aleksandra Lalević, it was deemed crucial for the economy to enhance its involvement in this educational approach.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro communicated that a key focus of the meeting was on the need to promote lifelong learning, along with encouraging more companies to obtain licenses to provide this form of training.

“The objective is to train personnel in alignment with the demands of the labor market, which is particularly vital in tourism, where an additional 20,000 workers are needed during the season,” stated the announcement from the meeting attended by Vice President of the Chamber, Dragan Kujović, and Board member of the Vocational Training Center, Dušan Bošković.

Furthermore, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro highlighted the importance of training instructors for practical education, thereby enabling businesses to enhance collaboration with students and schools, as well as improve the quality of the training offered.

“By advancing this area and enhancing Montenegro’s image as a destination promoting lifelong learning, it will become an attractive option for students from the region involved in mobility programs,” the statement further noted.

Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montenegro and the Vocational Training Center expressed their commitment to continue working synergistically in the domain of dual education through promotional activities, organizing events that highlight its significance, encouraging employers to participate in this initiative, and contributing to the refinement of the regulations governing it.
