Young Water Polo Athletes Reach World Championship Quarter-Finals
The U18 water polo team from Montenegro has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the World Championship taking place in Argentina.
In the round of 11, Montenegro triumphed over Turkey with a score of 8:2 (2:3, 3:3, 1:3, 2:XNUMX).
The young athletes established a significant lead during the third quarter, outscoring their opponents 3:0 in a series that ended 8:5.
Notable contributions came from double scorers Draško Samardžić, Srđan Janović, and Strahinja Gojković, while Tadija Matijašević, Danilo Stupar, Nikola Petrović, Tim Perov, and Miljan Bošković each netted a goal.
Montenegro’s next challenge in the semifinals will be against Croatia on the night between Sunday and Monday (1:30 a.m.).
