Montenegro Faces Its First Defeat in Tonight’s Clash Against Serbia
In today’s match of the third round at the tournament in Šabac, the Montenegro water polo national team faced defeat against Australia, with a final score of 13:11 (5:2, 2:2, 4:3, 2:4).
This marks the first loss for the Montenegrin water polo players, who had previously secured victories in the opening two rounds against Romania (10:6) and Germany (14:7).
Australia took an early lead in the first quarter, dominating with a score of 5:1, and maintained a strong position in the third period, leading 10:5.
Montenegro could only manage to reduce the margin of defeat towards the end of the match.
Notable performances for the Montenegrin team included Marko Mršić, who netted three goals, while Bogdan Đurđić and Đuro Radović contributed two goals each. Miroslav Perković, Kanstantin Averka, Stefan Vidović, and Danilo Radović added one goal apiece.
Next, the Montenegrin national team will face Serbia at 20:45, with a match against France scheduled for Sunday at 17:15.
