The head coach of Montenegro’s women’s junior handball team, Igor Marković, has secured a position abroad and will join the coaching staff of Rapid in Bucharest for the upcoming season.
Marković is set to serve as the assistant coach to David Montes, making his way to Romania’s capital after two years with Rudar Pljeval.
Recently, he guided the women’s junior national team at the World Championship, where they finished in 12th place, following an 8th place finish at the previous European Championship.
Throughout his time at Rapid, Marković will work alongside Milena Raičević, who is currently a player for the Bucharest club.
In the next Champions League season, Rapid will compete in the same group as Budućnost, alongside Vipers, Esbjerg, Ludvigsburg, Đer, Brest, and Odense.
