The government’s Failure to Convene the Capital City Assembly Reflects Irresponsibility and Lack of Seriousness

“The inability to convene today’s session of the Capital City Assembly illustrates the complete irresponsibility and triviality of the current ruling majority. Their failure to secure a quorum raises serious questions about how this majority was formed, as it has become evident that prioritizing the interests of Podgorica’s citizens was not their main concern,” stated Milena Vuković, Vice President of the Civic Movement URA and councilor in the Capital City Assembly.
Vuković emphasized that URA will consistently stand up for the interests of Podgorica’s citizens, but they refuse to engage in what she describes as the “circus of governance led by Podgorica’s Mayor, Saša Mujović.”
She admonished local government officials not to shift blame onto others for their lack of responsibility.
“The failure to ensure a quorum for today’s session and to pass the decisions on the agenda is entirely your responsibility. You cannot obscure your inability to maintain the functionality of the Capital after just two or three months in office by inappropriate references to the murder of journalist and editor-in-chief of Dnevne novine, Duško Jovanović. Your attempt to exploit one of the most tragic events in Montenegro’s recent history, which remains unresolved to this day, to alter your narrative reflects poorly on you. I remind you that it was URA President Dritan Abazović who reignited the call to identify all those responsible for the murder of Duško Jovanović,” Vuković added.
