Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović Holds Meeting with Swiss Ambassador Anne Lugon-Moulin
Today, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović held a meeting with the non-resident Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, H. E. Anne Lugon-Moulin, whose office is based in Belgrade.
During the discussions, both parties reiterated their dedication to enhancing the bilateral relations between Montenegro and Switzerland. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović conveyed his appreciation for Switzerland’s ongoing support regarding Montenegro’s foreign policy goals, especially concerning European integration and regional development. Ambassador Lugon-Moulin praised Montenegro’s reform initiatives and its advancements toward European Union membership.
The meeting also served as a platform to explore ways to improve bilateral cooperation, particularly concerning the establishment of the Embassy of Montenegro in Bern, which is expected to bolster political and economic relations between the two nations.
The conversation included topics related to economic ties, with Switzerland being one of the largest foreign investors in Montenegro over the last five years. They also discussed potential improvements in air connectivity between the two countries, given the significant influx of Swiss tourists to Montenegro and the considerable Montenegrin diaspora residing in Switzerland.
Attention was particularly focused on key regional and global issues presently affecting international relations, with both sides underlining the significance of dialogue and collaboration in tackling common challenges.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed gratitude to Ambassador Lugon-Moulin for her continuous cooperation and conveyed optimism that, through collaborative efforts, Montenegro and Switzerland will further enhance their relations across all areas of shared interest.
