Both parties recognized that the relationship between Montenegro and the Republic of Armenia is cordial, with considerable potential for enhancing collaboration across various fields of mutual interest.
State Secretary Kastratović conveyed his belief that fostering high-level political dialogue would invigorate and deepen interactions, leading to more dynamic cooperation across all levels.
In light of ongoing geopolitical developments and challenges on both regional and international fronts, Ambassador Kastratović highlighted Montenegro’s contributions as a responsible NATO member towards fostering regional and European stability. He reiterated Montenegro’s commitment to becoming the next member of the European Union, while expressing robust support for Armenia’s European aspirations and affirming Montenegro’s willingness to share insights and best practices from its own negotiation experiences.
He also expressed pleasure at the increase in Armenian tourists visiting Montenegro last year, attributed to enhanced transport links facilitated by new seasonal charter flights, which have been agreed to continue into the upcoming season.
Acknowledging Armenia’s prominent role as a regional hub for innovation and technology development, he expressed eagerness for collaboration and the exchange of Armenia’s best practices in these domains.
It was mutually recognized that local-level cooperation is a vital aspect of the overall relations between the two nations, underscored by the long-standing friendly connections between the cities of Podgorica and Yerevan, which date back to the 1970s. In this context, State Secretary Kastratović emphasized the potential for strengthening collaboration and expressed strong support from the Capital City for reviving the Podgorica-Yerevan Friendship Agreement.
