The teams from the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) are currently addressing an issue with the “Kumbor-Klinci” underwater cable, which has caused electricity outages in part of Herceg Novi. They anticipate that power will be restored within the next few hours.
This information was confirmed to “Vijesti” by the CEDIS officials.
According to their statement, the issue arose on March 4th in the afternoon, affecting the electricity supply to a section of Herceg Novi serviced by the TS 35/10 kV “Klinci” substation, positioned on the Herceg Novi side of the Luštica peninsula.
In addition to Luštica, reports from “Vijesti” indicate that cable damage has also caused power outages in the tourist complex on Lastavica Island (Mamula).
“The outage was due to a malfunction on the underwater 35 kV KB ‘Kumbor – Klinci’. CEDIS teams promptly arrived on-site to identify the cause of the issue and initiate repairs. Since the malfunction occurred at the junction between the land and underwater portions of the cable, the repair process will take some time. Our teams are working diligently to complete the repairs, and we expect regular electricity supply to the affected consumers within a few hours,” stated CEDIS.
