The young Montenegrin water polo team (under 18 years) has brought home another medal, marking the 10th overall in the junior categories.
They secured bronze at the World Championship in Buenos Aires, a victory that was celebrated on social media by legendary water polo player Nikola Janović, the former captain of the renowned “sharks” team.
“Our beloved sharks, you’ve demonstrated that when times are tough, having the biggest heart can lead to success. You’ve brought home a medal for Montenegro and showcased what desire, persistence, will, and self-belief truly mean. This is just the beginning of your dream; you are our pride,” Janović expressed on the X social platform.

Janović had even more reason to follow the young team’s progress, as his son Srđan and younger sibling Andrija Roganović are part of the roster.
Junior Janović was a standout at the World Cup, finishing as the top scorer for the Montenegrin team with 19 goals, while Strahinja Gojković, the son of senior team coach Vladimir Gojković, netted 16 goals.
