Recently, the young Montenegrin water polo players (under 18) secured a bronze medal at the World Championship held in Buenos Aires.
The “Sharks” triumphed over Italy with a close score of 12:11 in the bronze medal match, adding another medal to Montenegrin water polo’s accolades.
Former national team player Nikola Janović celebrated this achievement alongside his family, as his son Srđan and younger brother Andrija Roganović were part of the championship-winning team in Argentina.
Janović shared two photos on the X platform: one of him holding his son after returning from the 2012 European Championship where Montenegro won silver, and another of Srđan sporting his bronze medal from the World Championship.
“In 2012, I held him in my arms while he listened to the national anthem after I secured a medal with the national team in Eindhoven. Today, I am listening to the anthem again as he won world bronze with the national team. My younger son – Srđan Janović,” wrote the celebrated water polo player on X.
Notably, Srđan Janović was named to the ideal World Cup team and led the Montenegrin roster at the tournament with 19 goals as the top scorer.
