Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has declared that the Government will support Montenegro’s bid to host the European Water Polo Championship in 2028.
“This presents an opportunity to construct indoor swimming facilities and enhance water polo infrastructure in Montenegro’s major cities,” Spajić shared on the social media platform X.
This evening, he attended the final test match of Montenegro’s water polo team against Australia at the “Morač” swimming pool, prior to their Olympic Games stint in Paris.
“We have sent the ‘sharks’ to the Olympic Games, and we are gearing up to welcome the best teams from Europe in 2028. No more unfulfilled promises; it’s about time the results are showcased, first in the pool and subsequently beyond it,” Spajić emphasized.
The match was also graced by the young water polo athletes who recently clinched bronze at the World Championships in Buenos Aires, and they received special tokens of recognition from Spajić.
“These young water polo players, who achieved third place globally, compel us to offer them the necessary conditions to maintain their status at the top,” concluded Spajić.
