American boxer Sebastian Fundora successfully defended his WBC and WBO super welterweight titles, knocking out his opponent Chordale Booker in the fourth round.
With this victory, Booker faced his first defeat after an impressive 23 wins, while Fundora celebrated his 22nd win, marking his 14th knockout, alongside a loss and a draw in his record.
Fundora clinched the title by defeating Tim Tszyu, son of renowned boxer Kostya Tszyu, handing him his first loss. Tszyu had previously defeated Brian Mendoza, the only fighter to have beaten Fundora.
Fundora defended these two esteemed championship belts for the first time in Las Vegas; however, the 27-year-old American faces scrutiny for potentially avoiding a fight for the undisputed super welterweight title against five-year IBF champion Bahram Murtazaliev from Russia.
“I hold two titles and stand on equal ground with other prestigious belt holders,” he addressed the speculation surrounding Fundora.
