In what could be considered one of the few highlights of a disappointing season, the Mornar basketball team showcased their skills in Laktaši, hitting 16 three-pointers from 34 attempts. Unfortunately, they ended the match with a 14th consecutive loss.

In a thrilling overtime battle, the Bar-based club was edged out by Igokea, losing 101:97 in the opening game of the 15th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

Mihailo Pavićević’s squad currently sits at the bottom of the standings with only one win.

Once again, Mornar struggled at the start of the match, falling quickly behind 11:2. However, thanks to the three-pointers from Lovro Buljević, Brenden Jenkins, and Lovro Runjić, they managed to tie the game at 15:15.

Jenkins and Jaden Bediako kept the team in the contest until the middle of the second quarter (30:28). Igokea then took a lead into halftime at 44:34, maintaining that advantage for an extended period.

The Bosnian team achieved a maximum lead of 54:40, but Mornar refused to give in…

By the end of the third quarter, a three-pointer from Chika Carter reduced the deficit to 61:57, and in the fourth quarter, Jenkins hit more outside shots to make it 71:69 and then 82:78.

In a tense final two minutes, Runjić cut the score to 86:82, fought hard for a defensive rebound, leading to Karter’s 14th three-pointer that brought them within one point (86:85).

Mornar managed to level the score with just 11 seconds remaining, hitting another three-pointer from Carter (88:88) and then successfully defending to send the game into overtime.

Although Pavićević’s team managed to tie the game, they were unable to take their first lead during the additional five minutes. The home team jumped out to a six-point lead, but Mornar fought back to close in at 99:97, though they lacked the strength for a complete comeback.

Despite their fierce effort and determination, the team was ultimately left without a second triumph in the regional competition.
