I feel sorry for the players, this was our best match and a sign of better days to come

“Empathy for the Players: A Promising Match Indicating Brighter Days Ahead”

Despite being underestimated, Mornar demonstrated its basketball prowess, battling for 45 minutes in search of their second victory of the season, though their commendable performance in Laktaši went unrewarded…

The Bar basketball team fell to Igokea with a score of 101:97 in the 15th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

“A victory would have been a much-needed boost for us, but this indicates that better days are ahead – we aim to build momentum from this game,” remarked Mihailo Pavićević, the coach of Mornar, during the press conference.

The Rams kept pace with their opponents, sinking 16 three-pointers and creating multiple opportunities to clinch the match…

“The home team maintained the lead for most of the game, at one point even achieving a double advantage, but it’s disappointing for us – I feel especially for the players as I must acknowledge that this was our best game of the year, particularly in terms of sideline performance,” Pavićević noted.

He specifically highlighted their away games.

“Previously, we didn’t exhibit great quality in away matches, but this time we played with courage and fought hard. I can’t fault the players for their effort… When you give your all, there’s nothing to complain about, as errors are a natural part of sports.”

What ultimately decided the game?

“I believe the primary factor in our loss was the 10 missed free throws, which is unacceptable in a match like this, especially when losing by four points. There may have been other reasons, but that stands out as the most significant.”

He also commented on today’s opponent.

“Igokea rightfully secured the win and I extend my congratulations to them; as I mentioned before, we are longtime friends, but that friendship does not carry onto the court. This match made that clear,” Pavićević concluded.
