The Ministry of Defense has announced plans to begin a process with the Government to transfer six parcels of land in Seljanovo, covering a total area of four thousand square meters, to the Municipality of Tivat.
These parcels are owned by the ministry, and the Municipality of Tivat will allocate a portion of the land to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the purpose of constructing a religious facility.
The request for the land transfer was made by the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, during a visit from the Minister of Defense, Dragan Krapović, to Tivat yesterday. The two officials, along with their associates, met with Joanikije, the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral.
According to the statement, “Komnenović conveyed the Municipality of Tivat’s willingness to address the housing needs of educational staff, healthcare workers, police officers, and members of the Navy of the Army of Montenegro as compensation for the land transfer.”
