We sincerely value the ongoing support from the Czech Republic during Montenegro’s European Union (EU) accession negotiations, particularly its active involvement in the informal EU member states’ group known as “Friends of the Western Balkans,” stated Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović today.
He shared on social media platform Xx that the primary discussions with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský revolved around “the Czech Republic’s robust backing for our European journey” and “enhancing bilateral cooperation.”
“The bond between our nations is friendly and allied, a fact underscored by the official visit of the Czech Republic’s President, Petr Pavel, to Montenegro earlier this year,” Milatović highlighted.
He further mentioned that they talked about concrete actions toward the upcoming establishment of a Montenegrin diplomatic mission in Prague, which Milatović believes would be a significant advancement in strengthening bilateral ties.
“We are committed to enhancing cooperation and are optimistic that the Czech Republic, a staunch proponent of enlargement and the host country for the inaugural summit of the European Political Community, will back our proposal for Montenegro to host this vital event next year,” asserted the President of Montenegro.
