The Secretariat for Social Activities of the Municipality of Tivat has partnered with local sports clubs to launch a new initiative aimed at offering free sports activities to children from the Roma-Egyptian community.

This initiative, as highlighted by the city administration, is part of the “Local Action Plan for the Social Inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in the Municipality of Tivat.” Its purpose is to promote equal participation in sports among all children, encourage a healthy lifestyle, and foster social inclusion through teamwork and unity.

“This initiative presents an opportunity for development, integration, and the creation of a society grounded in equal opportunities for everyone,” stated the Secretariat led by Secretary Olivera Mišković-Vidojević (Nova).

The Secretariat for Social Affairs has encouraged parents of children from the RE community living in Tivat to take advantage of this opportunity and enroll their children in one of the local sports clubs.

“Interested parents can register their children at the Secretariat for Social Activities every working day between 8 am and 11 am, where they will find all necessary information,” the Municipality of Tivat announced. They extended special thanks to the Football Club “Arsenal” and the Kickboxing Club “Rebel” for being the first to acknowledge the significance of this initiative and for their selfless support, allowing children from vulnerable groups to join sports teams. These clubs demonstrated that sport transcends mere play; it is also a powerful catalyst for inclusion and positive change.”

The organizers are hopeful that this initiative will inspire other sports teams in Tivat to participate in promoting these strategic goals.
