The current Mayor of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić, will lead the Democrats’ list in the upcoming local elections.

The list is named “We Know Each Other by Our Deeds”.

Katić was appointed as the sole candidate and unanimously chosen by the Democratic Party of Montenegro (DPH), according to an announcement from Democratic Montenegro.

“The Mayor of Herceg Novi approaches the election process with a clear objective: to continue promoting sustainable development in Novi and to advance significant projects moving forward. Since assuming leadership of the city, Herceg Novi has been developed with a definitive vision – one that cherishes its culture and history while also looking ahead. Today, it stands as a modern, well-organized, and economically resilient city, boasting a dynamic cultural environment and projects that enhance the quality of life for its residents,” Democratic Montenegro stated.

Katić expressed that during the past period, they have demonstrated the importance of responsible governance that prioritizes citizen welfare. He reaffirmed that they would maintain this approach, emphasizing that words must translate into actions.

“The ‘We Know Each Other by Our Deeds’ list embodies a clear vision for the future of Herceg Novi. This includes continued infrastructure investment through the construction of a much-needed local bypass around Herceg Novi, the establishment of a new school in Igalo, and the development of a new swimming pool. Additionally, there will be a focus on enhancing tourism potential, supporting the youth, caring for the vulnerable, and improving living conditions for all citizens. Katić emphasized the need to advocate for Herceg Novi, particularly regarding the recovery of the Meljine Institute and Hospital and the transfer of coastal management authority back from the Coastal Zone Authority,” the announcement stated.
