Students Block Entrance to RTS Building, Demand “Public Service Liberation” Before Allowing Entry
Students participating in the blockade declared this evening that they have obstructed access to the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) building located on Takovska Street in Belgrade, announcing that the blockade will be in effect for 22 hours.
In an Instagram post, the students indicated that while exits for all staff will be permitted, no one will be allowed entry until “RTS is liberated.”
Students have urged citizens who wish to contribute donations to do so at nearby educational institutions, including the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Technology building.
They encouraged the public to join them on social media with the message – “Everyone at RTS,” according to N1.
“Takovska 10, RTS. All. Now. The operation has just begun. RTS. It belongs to the people,” stated the Faculty of Dramatic Arts on their official Instagram account.
The students further mentioned that their long-prepared action, dubbed “Operation,” has officially commenced.
“This evening we were labeled a mob by an RTS anchor. This is why we are obstructing the RTS building tonight. No violence, no intrusions. All employees will be permitted to leave the building – but no one will be entering,” the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade commented.
