The prominent handball club from Podgorica is set to officially transition to the capital city.
The women’s handball team Budućnost has confirmed that it has decided to transfer its founding rights to Podgorica.
According to their statement, the decision was reached unanimously during a meeting of the club’s Assembly.
The assembly was attended by 23 delegates, with Nikola Petrović serving as the President of the Assembly.
“This decision allows the club to finalize the necessary steps for the transfer of founding rights, paving the way for signing the accompanying contract and securing financial support from the Capital City for the club’s ongoing operations,” emphasized Budućnost.
Nearly a month ago, the Capital Assembly agreed to assume the founding rights of the Women’s Handball Club Budućnost after their main sponsor, Bemax, withdrew support from the two-time European champion.
The decision received 34 votes in favor, while one delegate opposed it, and another abstained.
The proponent of the initiative, Luka Rakčević, remarked at that time that this move was crucial for the survival of ŽRK Budućnost.
