Budva Hosts Buducnost, Morača Welcomes Albatros

The reigning champions of Montenegro, Herceg Novi, along with the team that finished second in the regular season of the EPCG Super League, Luka Bar, are set to meet their opponents in the play-off semi-finals. The identities of these opponents will be determined after a two-leg play-off match featuring the third-placed Buducnost against the sixth-placed Budva, and the fourth-placed contender, Albatros, facing off against the fifth-placed Morača.

The play-in round will kick off in Budva on Wednesday, March 19, where newcomer Budva will take on one of the league’s top teams, Buducnost. In their last outing, Buducnost missed the chance for a direct semi-final spot by losing to Luka Bar. Podgorica’s team has emerged victorious in both of their previous encounters this season, and as the favorites, they will look to capitalize on this match against the young squad. The game at MSC “Budva” is scheduled to begin at 18:15.

The second play-in match will see Morača hosting Albatros on Thursday, March 20. The two teams have previously faced each other in the league, producing thrilling contests. In the first matchup held in Podgorica, Novljanka secured a 3:1 victory, while in the SC “Igalo,” Morača’s coach Radusinović led his team to a five-set win just 12 days ago. This match will take place in the sports hall of the “Radojica Perović” elementary school, starting at 20:15.

The second legs of the matches will occur in Podgorica and Herceg Novi, and should the aggregate score be tied, a golden set will determine the winner of the two-legged tie.
