Another Manchester United Misstep: Fulham Knocks Out the “Red Devils” from the FA Cup
Manchester United’s tumultuous season continues with yet another setback – the “Red Devils” were knocked out by Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Old Trafford last night, losing in a penalty shootout (3:1, following a 1:1 draw after extra time).
Currently, United teeters near the relegation zone in the Premier League. They were also eliminated by Tottenham in the League Cup quarter-finals, and tonight marks the end of their journey in yet another tournament. This loss means they relinquish the FA Cup title they won last year.
This evening, it was a disappointing outing for Lindelof and Zirkzee, both of whom missed their penalty attempts. However, Fernandes, Dalot, and Casemiro successfully converted their penalties. On Fulham’s side, Jimenez, Berge, Williams, and Robinson were all on target.
Fulham took an early lead through Bessi, scoring in the first minute of stoppage time during the first half.
Manchester United managed to level the score in the 71st minute courtesy of Bruno Fernandes.
Following extra time, the match went to penalties, where the “Red Devils” unfortunately fell short.
