Manchester United has triumphed twice in the Fenix Trophy.
“Nevertheless, our team is prepared! This winter, we have recruited several promising young talents who have bolstered the competition within the squad, and we anticipate that some of them will make their debuts in the match on Monday. Additionally, our key signing this winter is the seasoned goalkeeper Zoran Aković, one of Montenegro’s most accomplished goalkeepers. His experience will not only enhance our team on the pitch but also aid our talented young goalkeeper Marko Damjanović in his development,” the club remarked.
They emphasize that this is a great chance to showcase Montenegro.
“This presents an excellent opportunity to promote Podgorica and Montenegro. Manchester United fans have already started arriving in Podgorica, and we are confident they will enjoy their stay in our capital city and wish to return. Furthermore, a journalist from the renowned Spanish media outlet Sport will be attending the match and will be a guest of our club in the upcoming days,” the club announced.
The second leg in Manchester is scheduled for March 8th.
“We faced significant challenges in acquiring British visas. However, thanks to the tremendous support from our friends in Manchester, who liaised with the Mayor of Manchester and the British Minister for Sport, Culture and Media, we were able to secure the visas. In a week’s time, we will become the first Montenegrin team to play a match in England,” the club said.
The club has extended an invitation to fans to attend the game.
“This match transcends football – we invite all fans and sports lovers to come and show their support for Fans United as they compete against one of the world’s most renowned amateur clubs,” expressed Fans United.
