Montenegro Seeks to Establish Itself as a Safe Investment Destination
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj inaugurated the regional conference entitled “Enhancing Legal Security for Investment Arrival and Development,” organized by The AIRE Centre and the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro, with assistance from the British Embassy in Podgorica.
Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj underscored Montenegro’s ambition to become a secure and trustworthy location for investors. He pointed out that realizing this aspiration necessitates legal predictability, efficient dispute resolution mechanisms, and transparency in the judicial system.
A solid arbitration framework instills confidence in investors that their rights will be protected, resulting in increased investments and a more robust economy, which is a collective goal for all, stated Gjeloshaj.
The conference, taking place today in Podgorica, brought together prominent arbitration experts, including Tim Eicke, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights; Niamh Leinwather, Secretary General of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre; and Andrew Henshaw, President of the Commercial Court of the United Kingdom.
