Armend Mila, the Executive Director of HTP “Ulcinjska Rivijera” AD Ulcinj, has made an urgent appeal to the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, requesting the revitalization of the beach on Ada.

This request, according to the hotelier’s statement, concerns the swift replenishment of the beach and the initiation of works for the construction of artificial embankments-dunes slated to start after the summer tourist season, from October 01, 2025.

“In 2024, no construction activities were undertaken for the artificial embankments-dunes. This year, there is a pressing need to revitalize the beach by bringing in sand from the borrow pit to ensure it remains functional for the upcoming tourist season. The aim of constructing artificial embankments-dunes post-summer season is to protect the beach from harsh winter conditions, which is vital for preserving this gem of the Montenegrin coast. The Ministry of Spatial Planning has confirmed that allocated funds are already available in the current budget for these initiatives,” the statement notes.

Additionally, the Ministry informs that a Business and Technical Cooperation Agreement has been signed with DOO “Zaštita prostora Crne Gore”, which will conduct civil engineering works as part of their registered operations. These endeavors are intended to safeguard and enhance state property, serving the broader interest of the community.

“The exact financial requirements for these works will be determined by DOO “Zaštita prostora Crne Gore”. The bidding process will be assessed based on the technical proposal from a distinguished team of experts from Italy. These initiatives are crucial for maintaining Ada Bojana’s appeal as a tourist location and for the coastal protection against further degradation. It is anticipated that the comprehensive beach revitalization efforts will yield numerous advantages for the local populace, tourism, and the conservation of Montenegro’s natural resources,” the statement concludes, with Mila expressing gratitude towards the Government of Montenegro and relevant ministries for their prompt assistance and support in addressing this significant concern.
