The student blockade of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) building, situated on Takovska Street in central Belgrade, concluded tonight around 21:00.
A student, addressing those present at the entrance, expressed gratitude to citizens for their support during the blockade of the media outlet and assured everyone that the students were energized and ready for the protest on Saturday, March 15th.
Earlier, during the main news broadcast on the television station, the crowd created a deafening noise, chanting “woo” and “come out.”
Before concluding the blockade, participants took the initiative to clean up the area surrounding the building.
Students had initiated the blockade of the public service building last night at 23:00, protesting against an RTS journalist who referred to the demonstrators as a “mob.”
Throughout the 22-hour blockade, employees were permitted to leave the building, but entry was restricted. Nevertheless, some individuals managed to infiltrate the RTS premises by crawling through the basement window, from which the bars had been removed, before navigating the basement rooms.
At the main entrance, security personnel formed a human barrier, preventing employees from entering the building through the normal entrance.
