Montenegro finished in 23rd place at the European Under-18 Handball Championship held in Podgorica.

In a match that had no bearing on status, as both teams were relegated from the elite category of European handball, Montenegro, coached by Filip Popović, triumphed over Ukraine with a score of 29:23 in the “Verde” hall.

During the championship, which featured the 24 best teams from across the continent, Montenegro recorded one victory, two draws, and five losses, aiming to reclaim their place in the elite division through the B division in two years.

In the encounter against Ukraine, Montenegro led the match from start to finish, achieving a maximum lead of nine goals and rightfully concluded their championship run with a win.

Danilo Gutić shone with ten goals, while Aleksa Knežević added six to the tally.
