Igor Crnadak, the leader of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) parliamentary group in the Republika Srpska (RS) assembly, declared today that he has resigned from his position as a member of the RS National Assembly (RSNA) Committee for Constitutional Issues. He expressed that he refuses to partake in processes that he believes are leading Republika Srpska and its Serbian population towards destruction.
Crnadak stated on Facebook, “I do not wish to be involved in the reckless actions of the current government that jeopardize peace and security, creating uncertainty in Republika Srpska.”
He further commented that he “does not wish to sit at the same table as (NSRS Speaker) Nenad Stevandić unless absolutely necessary, due to his patronizing and bullying behavior towards opposition members.”
The Collegium of the RS National Assembly, acting on a decision from ruling coalition committee members, has scheduled a special session for tomorrow to discuss a proposal on adopting a new RS Constitution, followed by another parliamentary session to urgently review the Draft RS Constitution and the proposed Law on the Protection of the Constitutional Order in RS.
The proposed new Constitution designates the Republika Srpska as a state and outlines the abolition of the Council of Peoples of the RS, the Vice Presidency of the Republic, the reformation of the RS Army, the addressing of Brčko District issues, and a change to the capital of the RS.
