This weekend, the handball players from Budućnost will compete in the “Kerman Cup” tournament taking place in Debrecen, Hungary.
Following three weeks of training in Podgorica, this tournament will serve as an important evaluation for Bojana Popović as they prepare for the new season of the EHF Champions League, which kicks off on September 8 against the Rapida team in Bucharest.
In the semi-finals scheduled for Friday at 20:00, Budućnost will face the Hungarian team FTC, while two hours prior, the hosts Debrecen will battle the Norwegian Vipers for a spot in the final.
“Over the past three weeks, our hard work in Podgorica has brought us to a specific level of fitness that we are eager to test in such a strong tournament in Hungary. It’s crucial that all available players are healthy, and in these two competitive matches in Debrecen, we will have the opportunity for everyone to showcase their skills. While the outcome is important, our primary focus is on experimenting with various tactical strategies and allowing all players the chance to elevate their performance, as these games are the only preparation we could schedule before the Champions League,” commented Popović.
